Kenbishi Shuzô over five centuries of history and a sake whose flavour has remained unchanged for over 400 years.
Founded in 1505 in Hyōgo Prefecture, Kenbishi Shuzō is one of Japan’s oldest sake breweries.
Run by the founding family, it has passed down its unique expertise from generation to generation.
Kenbishi Shuzô’s promise is based on three principles:
1. Consistent flavour: Kenbishi Shuzô is committed to preserving the authentic taste of the sake crafted by its ancestors.
2. High-quality raw materials: from the very pure ‘Miyamizu’ water to rice grown by local farmers or from its own fields, Kenbishi always selects the finest ingredients.
3. A low mark-up: the price of its sake must remain affordable. This is a way of honouring the wisdom and techniques of its ancestors, and of providing its loyal customers with sake that meets their expectations.
