Konnyaku Vermicelli, also known as shirataki are Japanese noodles, prepared with konjac (a kind of large tuber) and very low in calories (only 5kcal per 100g!): an appetite suppressant effect that makes it very popular with Japanese women who want to control their weight!
Konjac is a superfood! : in addition to being 100% vegetable and natural, it is very rich in calcium, regulates transit, helps lower bad cholesterol,prevents diabetes, helps reduce blood sugar levels and ... is not allergenic.
Shirataki are actually a block of konnyaku 蒟蒻 cut up and presented as vermicelli: just rinsed in water, they are prepared like noodles and can be used hot or cold in salads, ramen, pan-fried and are equally perfect for Japanese fondues.
Since 1877 the Ishibashi 石橋屋 family has been producing high quality konjac in Fukuoka, in the northern part of the Kushu Peninsula, according to a unique and renowned know-how, which their craftsmen are proud to perpetuate: they offer you today their vermicelli Nobegata Konnyaku Shirataki のべがたこんにゃくしらたきproduced artisanally and exclusively from a yam flour kneaded konjac, without preservatives or colorants.
