Mirin fumi seasoning 250ml
obento mirin seasoning
Mirin-style sweet seasoning bottle for Japanese cuisine
Mirin みりん (pronounced mi-ri-ne) is traditionally an alcoholic and sweet seasoning for Japanese cooking, present in all Japaneses cuisines along with soy sauce, miso, rice vinegar or even sesame oil.
In Japan, mirin is used to attenuate strong fish or meat odours, to make the sauce and flavours penetrate the cooked food, and to prevent them from breaking down.
With mirin, it is easy to sweeten a dish and lightly caramelise food: it lacquers it and gives it a golden sheen, while its particular flavour provides a fine, complex and mild aroma to dishes.
It is used in many, many recipes, marinades, teriyaki, sukiyaki, tempura, rice, meat, seafood and even some Japanese cakes.
This mild Mirin Obento seasoning has the same taste as Mirin but it contains no alcohol
