Pickled pink ginger for sushi
Gari shoga is a Japanese condiment made from finely grated ginger marinated in rice vinegar.
Served as is with soy sauce and wasabi, it's a must when you're eating sushi: it refreshes your palate between mouthfuls, making it easier to savour the next sushi.
It also goes wonderfully well with tempura and all deep-fried dishes. You can add it to salads, fried noodles and all rice dishes.
