Cup noodles combine noodles, seasonings and sometimes dehydrated vegetables in a container ready for preparation. They may contain ramen in broth, thick udon or yakisoba without soup. The principle is simple, but the preparation method varies depending on the product.
For ramen or udon served in soup, the dehydrated vegetables and powdered seasoning are generally placed in the cup with the noodles. Add boiling water up to the indicated line, close the lid and wait for the stated time.
Aromatic oils and liquid seasonings are often added after the noodles have rehydrated. However, the exact order may vary, so the instructions on the packaging should always be followed.
Yakisoba cups are prepared differently. The vegetables are generally added to the noodles from the beginning, but the sauce should not be added at this stage.
After a few minutes, drain all the water through the openings in the lid, then mix the sauce with the drained noodles.
Almost everyone has added the sauce before draining at least once and watched it disappear down the sink 😅
