Nori seaweed is a variety of edible seaweed that usually appears as thin, deep green to black leaves.
They are first dried, roasted litt. Yaki and then made into leaves to then coat sushi and maki but can also be cut into strips and then served in bowls of topped rice donburi or topping râmen or soba noodles.
