Traditional teriyaki sauce for grilling and marinating
Teriyaki 照り焼き is a style of Japanese cooking: teri means gloss and yaki means grill. To make a teriyaki dish, ingredients are roasted or grilled after being marinated or dipped in teriyaki sauce.
This Teriyaki Marinade is made from soy sauce, mirin, fruit juice and spices.
It is an ideal marinade for meat, poultry, fish and vegetables, whether grilled, pan-fried, barbecued or baked. For a more intense barbecue flavour, brush on dishes or grilled meats while they are still cooking, so that the dishes remain more tender and succulent.
The Japanese eat this marinade in the same way that they do in the United States.
