Shiitake 椎茸 (Shii - Oak, Take - mushroom) is actually called Oak Valentin in French.
Cultivated for thousands of years in Asia, Shiitake is one of Japan's most beloved foods with its subtle woody taste and very smooth texture that can be paired with almost any dish.
The Japanese quickly adopted it for its very aromatic fragrance but also its multiple benefits: rich in vitamins and minerals, it stimulates immunity, fights fatigue and prevents cholesterol.
These Clearspring Organic Shiitake Mushrooms have been carefully grown and prepared to retain all their flavour and preserve their aromas: the selected variety has a large, well-developed cap, which makes it easy to reconstitute and cook in a wok, pan or steam.
Once rehydrated and cut into thin strips, incorporate Shiitake into your miso soups, noodle dishes, tempura fries or simply mix them with your omelette or white rice. Combine a few Shiitake mushrooms with kombu seaweed and make healthy and tasty vegetarian broths!
