Roasted green tea or hôjicha, in bags
Yamamotoyama 山本山, renowned in Japan for his teas since 1690, operates from the United States: he offers this Hôjicha ほうじ茶 tea, a roasted green bancha tea.
Bancha (ordinary tea) comes from the last harvest of tea, which takes place in October, the leaves are picked even while they are very developed.
This tea takes on a very high taste value through roasting. The method was invented during the 1920s in Kyôto: it consists of roasting the bancha over charcoal at a high temperature (200 degrees), much in the way coffee is roasted.
Very conveniently packaged in bags, enjoy it hot or cold!
