White marble sand for burning Japanese incense
In Japan, in sacred places, incense burners are traditionally filled with ashes in order to plant the incense sticks: these then burn completely.
At home, more practical, the Japanese use instead this white marble sand which easily replaces this ash.
Do as they do: simply pour some of this Marble Sand Kôro Hai 香炉灰 into your favourite incense burner before sticking your favourite incense sticks into it.
