Organic umeboshi salted plum puree made in Japan
Umeboshi is a puree of plums macerated for many months with salt: it turns pink when it comes into contact with purple shiso leaves.
Very popular in Japan, this puree with its salty, tangy taste is enjoyed there from breakfast onwards as a topping to a simple bowl of white rice.
In addition to its original flavours, umeboshi paste is also a dietary condiment with multiple virtues recognised and appreciated by the Japanese: antiseptic, fortifying, mineralising, hangover remedy etc...!
