Umeshu is an alcoholic beverage produced from sake in which Ume plums, a specific variety of plum from Japan, are marinated.
Kamiyama grows plums of the Ume variety in Tokushima on the island of Shikoku, which he carefully harvests and selects by hand before preparing them. The artisans carry on their age-old skills as sake brewers to age the ume plums in sake alcohol for 3 years to reduce the acidity of the plums and exude their full fragrance.
Smooth and mellow on the palate, this authentic Kamiyama Umeshu 3 Nen 神山梅酒三年 then gives off the refreshingly pleasant flavour of plum ume.
This sweet drink is ideal as an aperitif, on the rocks.
