Since 1743 of the Edo period, the Yoshida brewery in Yamagata has been producing local sakes based on ancestral know-how.

Its Gassan 月山 brand means "between mountain and moon", in reference to the castle built on Gassan Tomita mountain, located near the brewery and renowned for the purity of its spring water.

With its sweetness and acidity reminiscent of white wine, this low-alcohol sake is the perfect accompaniment to raw fish and sushi: it's also perfect as an aperitif.
