The tender young leaves of the season are harvested at their peak in late spring: they are steamed for a long time, dried, then rolled and cooled using the traditional sencha method.
This process, which takes longer than traditional steaming, gives the tea its deep umami flavours.
Chaju 茶寿 offers you its Fukamushi Sencha 深蒸し煎茶 tea, a special blend of the Tsuyuhikari and Yabukita varieties, grown in Shizuoka, home of the finest Japanese teas.
Taste this tea with your eyes closed, and savour its smooth, bitter flavours in perfect harmony.
