Organic Miumori new green tea, from 1rst crop 2024, grown by the Shutaro Hayashi family
Shutaro HAYASHI is a fifth-generation member of a family of tea growers in the prefecture of Kagoshima, in the south of the Kyûshû peninsula. At the foot of the Kirishima mountains, 霧島 the Hayashi family cultivates in their family gardens surrounded by forests, species of tea trees, some of which are becoming increasingly rare in Japan. All of its production is derived from fully organic cultivation that meets the challenges that come from the demanding way of working in an organic tea garden.
This Miumori Shincha 2024 tea is made exclusively from the leaves of the Kabuse Asanoka tea plants.
Shutaro Hayashi harvested this exceptional Shincha on April 25, 2024.
The shaded leaves of the Asanoka are very subtly steamed (asa-mushi) so that this shincha has a beautiful needle shape and the infusion is relatively clear.
The most remarkable is its well integrated umami taste and leaky notes.
