Shutaro HAYASHI belongs to the fifth generation of a family of tea growers in the prefecture of Kagoshima, in the south of the Kyûshû peninsula. At the foot of the Kirishima mountains, 霧島 the Hayashi family cultivates in their family gardens surrounded by forests, species of tea trees, some of which are becoming increasingly rare in Japan. All of its production stems from a fully organic culture that knows how to meet the challenges arising from the demanding working method of an organic tea garden.
Kôcha 紅茶 means black tea in Japanese: only the leaves of the Benifûki tea tree have been selected to make this Kirishima Miumori Koucha Organic black tea, which is elegant and tasty, and very surprising for those accustomed to classic black teas from other countries.
