Calpis (カルピス) also sometimes called Calpico, has been a popular drink in Japan since 1919 and is widely available in the country in many forms.
Basically, calpis is a white, non-carbonated, sweetened drink containing milk fermented with lactobacillus: the creator of this drink wanted to create a beverage that was rich in vitamins and minerals. Since then, many variants have appeared.
