10g bottle of Sanshô-ko, Japanese pepper.

Sancho-ko, also called Japanese pepper or pepper Sishuan (China region), is obtained from the bay of a tree of the family of mandarin. This is not strictly speaking a pepper, this is actually a citrus fruit.

The Japanese Sansho Pepper is a subtle and rich flavour. It gives off aromas of citrus and woody and is not very spicy. The sanshô however has a slight anesthetic property providing tingling on the tip of the tongue.

The Japanese pepper is perfect for fish, eel dishes, also for meats, ramen noodles and udons.
